About
Learn about the practice, the clinician, and what therapy is all about
Meet the Founder
Hi, I’m Shirin. My pronouns are she/her, and I’m so grateful to have crossed your path.
I'm the owner of Soundview Therapy and a mental health associate clinician (Licensed Social Worker Associate–Independent Clinical, or LSWAIC) in Washington State.
Here’s some more information you may be wondering about me before we work together:
Clinical Training & Education
I began my clinical training in 2024 at the Quinault Indian Nation's Roger Saux Behavioral Health Center, where I worked with individuals seeking mental health support. I gained great experience applying evidence-informed therapeutic approaches in real-world settings, and expanding my understanding of cultural competence.
In June 2025, I graduated from the University of Denver with dual master's degrees: a Master of Social Work with a concentration in Mental Health and Trauma, and a Master of Business Administration in Executive Leadership. My education reflects both my commitment to clinical excellence and my interest in building systems that make high-quality care more accessible.
Today, I specifically seek out continued education courses approved by Washington State and the American Social Work Board so that I can maintain and improve my skills as I focus my practice on issues including OCD, Trauma treatment, Grief, and C-PTSD in Relationships.
Business Formation and Supervision
In 2026, I founded Soundview Therapy and Assessment, PLLC to provide accessible tele-mental health services to adults throughout Washington State.
As part of associate licensure, I practice under the supervision of an approved clinical supervisor and regularly consult on clinical work. Supervision provides an additional layer of professional support, accountability, and ongoing learning that helps ensure clients receive thoughtful, ethical care. With me (like other associates), you get the benefit of multiple minds working together to support your care.
My goals
My goal is to create a therapeutic space that is compassionate, collaborative, and grounded in both clinical knowledge and genuine human connection, in a way that offers access to those who need remote care at flexible times.
As a lesbian, second generation Iranian-American clinician with lived experience in the challenges I support, I especially welcome multi-cultural clients, LGBTQ clients, couples, and those navigating trauma or OCD. Whether you're in crisis or don't know where to start, I bring deep understanding to this work, and a core belief that meaningful, lasting change is possible.
Style and Philosophy
I love learning, and with the love of learning comes the love of teaching. I enjoy sharing insights about the mind, body, and frameworks that shape how we show up in the world, because I’ve seen how that knowledge can help improve motivation, relationships, and overall mental state.
One of my core beliefs is that everyone has the power to solve their own problems—they just need the right tools. I listen intently to understand the different pieces of your life, and identify which tools could be useful.
My approach includes sharing those tools with you, the reason they help, and the impact they could have—and supporting you with help and guidance as you begin to use them across the different areas of your life.

Values
-
Providing access to all people is a core value of Soundview Therapy. We aim to provide a safe space for our clients and their loved ones. I work with many insurance companies including Medicare through my partnership with Piiq Space. If you’re paying privately, I offer a sliding scale for those who need support.
-
Ethics are the foundation of trust. I strive to ensure that my work is grounded in professional responsibility, thoughtful decision-making, and respect for each person's dignity.
-
Curiosity creates space for understanding. Rather than making assumptions or rushing toward solutions, I value asking thoughtful questions, remaining open to new perspectives, and approaching each person with genuine interest.

Psychotherapy can be intimidating, but it doesn’t have to be. I provide psychoeducation about different methods, theories, and interventions before we try them together, so you have a say in your care. I also value transparency and respect in return, which includes hearing about your perspective and how you feel about your progress.
A Piiq Space Provider
Soundview Therapy was selected to partner with Piiq Space in 2025, and started working together in 2026.
Through this partnership I receive incredible supervision, work with a network of other hand-selected therapists, and build new skills regularly through group-supervision and training.
Free Consultation
Booking an appointment doesn’t have to come first.
A 15-minute consultation is a great way to see if you and your therapist will be a good fit to achieve meaningful work together.
